Göran Gustafsson prizes to four Uppsala researchers

On 5 May 2017, a grand prize ceremony was held in the Stone Gallery at the Royal Palace in Stockholm. The Göran Gustafsson Foundation for Research at Uppsala University and KTH awarded a total of SEK 12 million to young researchers. Among the recipients were four researchers from Uppsala University.


Anna Rostedt Punga, the Department of Neuroscience, and Cecilia Persson, the Department of Engineering Sciences, were each awarded a Göran Gustafsson prize of SEK 2.5 million, to be used freely in research.

The small prize of SEK 500,000 went to Olov Norlén, the Department of Surgical Sciences, and Reza Younesi, the Department of Chemistry (Ångström).

About the foundation:

The Göran Gustafsson Foundation for Research at Uppsala University and KTH was created in 1986 through a donation made by Göran Gustafsson. The foundation has the primary goal of furthering basic research in engineering physics and medicine, and is targeted towards young researchers.
