Unanimous University Board proposes re-appointment of Vice-Chancellor Eva Åkesson

On 5 October, the University Board unanimously decided to follow the proposal made by the recruitment committee and the consultative assembly and propose to the government that current Vice-Chancellor Eva Åkesson be re-appointed as vice-chancellor.
In accordance with the Higher Education Ordinance, the re-appointment of a vice-chancellor should be for a period of three years, i.e. from 1 January 2018 to 31 December 2020.
“I’m grateful for the Board’s confidence and await the government’s decision. I hope to continue working for the University’s best interests together with staff, students and the rest of the University management,” says Eva Åkesson.
