US alumni event at the Swedish Embassy
On Wednesday 25 October, five Swedish universities including Uppsala University invited their alumni to an evening at the Embassy of Sweden in Washington DC.
The room was completely full when the newly appointed Swedish Ambassador, Karin Olofsdotter, warmly welcomed everyone to House of Sweden. Uppsala University Alumnus of the Year 2016, Dr Trita Parsi, gave a speech about the values his education in Uppsala had provided him with. Values and tools that he has since used in his work in international relations, as founder and current president of the National Iranian American Council, author of award-winning books and frequent guest on Swedish television and news shows such as BBC, CNN, Al Jazeera.
The evening ended with a mingle and many stayed until closing. Thank you to everyone who participated!
