Uppsala University has been allocated more than SEK 30 million through the Swedish Foundation for Strategic Research (SSF) announcement “SSF - Materials for Energy Applications”. The grant decisions, where a total of nine researchers from universities and university colleges in Sweden will share almost SEK 300 million, were published on 7 February 2018.

Olle Eriksson at the Department of Physics and Astronomy will receive SEK 30.1 million over a five-year period for the project “Magnetic materials for a sustainable Sweden” via the SSF announcement “Materials for Energy Applications”.

The aim of the projects that have been allocated resources via this announcement is that researchers will collaborate with industry to develop new materials with which to create more efficient and sustainable energy systems.

Every year, the Swedish Foundation for Strategic Research (SSF), donates approximately SEK 600 million to research in science, technology and medicine. SSF is a free, independent player in the public research financing system.
