Gustaf Adolf Medals for significant contributions
Gustaf Adolf Medals have been awarded to five Uppsala University employees for their significant contributions.
The Elder Gustaf Adolf Medal is also known as the Hedlinger Medal, after the engraver Johann Carl Hedlinger. This Medal, in either gold or silver, is awarded to an individual who has served as dean for a very long term; a department head who has initiated and directed especially significant work; and to an individual who has performed highly important investigative or similar work on a large scale or of or long duration.
The 1924 Gustaf Adolf Medal has been conferred upon kings, chancellors, vice-chancellors, deputy vice-chancellors, administrative directors and major donors.
