Moa Lidén, LLD (Doctor of Laws) of the Department of Law has been appointed as a Ragnar Söderberg Postdoctoral Fellow in Law for two years.

With a grant of nearly SEK 1,900,000, Moa Lidén will pursue her research project “Evidence in criminal cases: Reliability and susceptibility to influence”. In it, she will study how far forensic (technical or scientific) and testimonial evidence can be relied on and how easily it can be influenced.

Both kinds of evidence, forensic and testimonial, are important for courts’ judgments in criminal and other cases. Knowledge of any sources of error is therefore important, one purpose being to apply the evidence requirement known as “beyond reasonable doubt”.
