CANCELLED: Dag Hammarskjöld Lecture with Christiana Figueres
During her time at the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, Christiana Figueres brought together governments, companies, activists, financial institutions and NGOs to jointly deliver the historic Paris Agreement. No fewer than 195 nations agreed to keep the global rise in temperature well below two degrees Celsius and to strive to keep it to 1.5 degrees Celsius, in order to protect the most vulnerable. As ‘chief architect’ of the agreement, Christiana Figueres has been credited with forging a new brand of collaborative diplomacy, for which she has received many awards.
