The Wallenberg Foundations donate SEK 50 million for corona testing
The Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation have decided to immediately allocate SEK 50 million to Karolinska Institutet and Uppsala University.
With this investment, the academic institutions can help the healthcare sector in the Stockholm-Uppsala region. In addition, if needed, the Wallenberg Foundations intend to contribute in a similar way in other parts of the country.
“In our dialogue with the research community in Sweden in recent days, it is obvious that the researchers at our Swedish universities are prepared to put their resources at the disposal of the healthcare system,” says Siv Andersson, Professor and Co-director of the Science for Life Laboratory.
