Unauthorized use of e-identification discussed at conference in Private Law
Recently, the Department of Law at Uppsala University arranged a conference on the theme unauthorized use of e-identification. A total of 115 participants from all over Sweden and neighboring countries came to learn more about, and discuss the topic.
During two full days, some of the Nordic region's leading researchers in Private Law and specialized practitioners talked about a selection of the Private Law problems that arise as a result of unauthorized use of e-identification. In connection with the lectures, sixteen speakers started lively discussions with an active and expert audience.
- We are very pleased with the large number of participants, says Torbjörn Ingvarsson, professor of Private Law at the Department of Law and one of the organizers of the conference. Most came from the business world with lawyers and bank lawyers working in both small and large banks in Sweden. But also participants from authorities such as the Swedish Consumer Agency, the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority, the Police and The National Board for Consumer Disputes (ARN).
- It has been very rewarding to have the opportunity to combine theory and practice for two full days. Especially the high scientific level of the speakers has been highlighted by the participants as something very positive about the conference, says Marianne Rödvei Aagaard, associate professor of Private Law at the Department of Law and organizer.
The conference was held in the premises of Slottsbiografen in Uppsala. Thanks to the fantastic research assistants Ludwig Irveland and Frida Gommel and a good collaboration with Hamberg's restaurant, the logistics went smoothly, says Marianne. During the conference dinner, the Law Society's own choir, Lex Legato, also contributed with their beautiful song, and the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Anna Singer, gave a very nice welcome speech.
- Many new contacts have been made and we have now laid the foundation for continued active collaboration between different actors in the industry in order to be able to contribute with current and important research in a very important area in the future, Torbjörn and Marianne conclude.
