The current external members of the University Board have been reappointed by the Swedish government for the next term of office from 1 October 2024 to 30 April 2028.
The current chair of the University Board, Anne Ramberg, will continue as chair. The other external members of the University Board have similarly received a renewed mandate from the Swedish government.
The University Board has fifteen members, eight of whom are appointed by the government. Three members are selected by an electoral process at the University and three are chosen by the University’s students. The Vice-Chancellor is a permanent member of the University Board.
In spring 2023 the government appointed the external members to serve until 30 September 2024. At that time the government appointed the external board members of all state higher education institutions for a shorter term of office than usual to provide an opportunity to review the security situation and because of the importance of having security-related skills on the institutions’ boards.
