The second round of higher education admissions for the 2025 autumn semester is now complete. In total, admissions to Uppsala University have dropped slightly compared to last year, with Medicine being the programme requiring the highest merit rating to get into.

The total number of admissions to Uppsala University after Round 2 is 53,351 compared with 54,301 last year, a decrease of 1.7 per cent. Campus Gotland has 4,715 admissions, which is a decrease of 2 per cent compared to the 2024 autumn semester.

The number of admissions is not the same as the number of students however, because some individuals may have been admitted to more than one course package or study programme.

The national statistics from the Swedish Council for Higher Education show that the Law Programme at Uppsala University had the highest number of qualified applicants of all study programmes nationwide. In total, 6,754 people applied for places in this particular programme.

The Medicine Programme required the highest merit rating to get into. For those who applied with final school grades without supplementary qualifications, a merit rating of 22.08 was required. The course packages that required the highest merit ratings were Information Systems A (30 credits) and Business Studies A (30 credits).

It is still possible to apply for course packages and study programmes. The website antagning.se (or universityadmissions.se in English) lists the study places that are still open for late applications.
