New leadership at two disciplinary domains in autumn 2026

Two of the three disciplinary domains at Uppsala University will have an entirely new leadership come autumn 2026 following the Vice-Chancellor’s decision on vice-rectors and deputy vice-rectors from mid-2026.
For the Disciplinary Domain of Science and Technology, the sitting leaders have been re-appointed, while there will be new management at the Disciplinary Domain of Humanities and Social Sciences and the Disciplinary Domain of Medicine and Pharmacy.
The term of office of the current vice-rectors and deputy vice-rectors at Uppsala University expires at the end of June 2026. Based on the proposals from each of these disciplinary domain’s electoral assemblies, the Vice-Chancellor has decided to appoint the following individuals for the term of office from 1 July 2026 to 30 June 2029.
Disciplinary Domain of Humanities and Social Sciences

- Vice-Rector: Eva Mörk, Professor at the Department of Economics (new appointment).
- Deputy Vice-Rector: Torbjörn Gustafsson Chorell, Professor at the Department of History of Science and Ideas (new appointment).
