Mitsubishi Corporation, a Japanese company, has donated SEK 357 000 to Uppsala University´s student exchange programme with Japan.
Uppsala University has had student exchange with Japan since the 1980s. Today, students at Uppsala University are given the opportunity to study one or two semesters at one of eight different Japanese universities, and at the same time, Japanese students are coming to Uppsala:
Keio University Sophia University
Kyoto University Tohoku University
Kyushu University Tokyo University
Nagoya University Waseda University
“Our students show great interest in studying in Japan, so it is very pleasing to be able to offer this opportunity to our exchange students”, says Eva Åkesson Vice Chancellor at Uppsala university.
“It is our pleasure to support the exchange program between the prestigious universities in Sweden and Japan. The donation shall contribute to further strengthen the academic and cultural ties between two countries. We hope students to have a good time and learn something fruitful for their future”, says Kenichi Oteki, General Manager of Mitsubishi Corporation Stockholm.
The donation is being announced today at an alumni event in Japan.
