Using machine learning to investigate nonverbal behavior

Abstract: In this talk I will present current research where we utilise machine learning to investigate nonverbal communication. I will first present a framework (the lens model) for investigating facial and vocal nonverbal communication. After that, the talk will focus on recent studies where we have used nonverbal cues to a) classify a large number of emotion categories portrayed by actors, and b) to predict the accuracy of eyewitness memory.
