Abstract: Point-of-care (POC) facilities have a hard time integrating 3D printing as a sustainable part of the regular care offering. Not as a result of the technology lacking promise, but as a result of organizational and managerial issues regarding reimbursement systems and viable business models for 3D printing capabilities. Despite a growing body of research addressing the intersection of 3D printing and business models, the literature remains fragmented across disciplines and perspectives. This systematic literature review aims to synthesize existing empirical and conceptual publications from a wide variety of industries to provide a structured overview of how business models are configured, transformed, and innovated through the use of 3D printing technologies.
