Daniel Hedlund
Daniel Hedlund is Associate Professor in Sociology of Law. Hedlund has a multidisciplinary background and is trained in law, human rights research, and qualitative methodology and methods. Hedlund’s research interests concerns children’s credibility in decision-making, children in social care and migrating children’s’ integration. Hedlund graduated in 2016 with a PhD in Child and Youth Science with the thesis “Drawing the Limits: Unaccompanied Minors in Swedish Asylum Policy and Procedure”. Following his graduation, Hedlund has in national and international competition successfully applied for and conducted two postdoctoral research positions, first at Stockholm University with the cross-faculty initiative Children, Migration and Integration (2017-2019), and later at Uppsala University’s Faculty of Law (2019-2021).
Hedlund’s research output has been published in journals such as the Journal of Refugee Studies, the Journal of Ethnic and Migration Studies, the International Journal of Children’s Rights and the International Journal of Migration, Health and Social Care. In addition, he has been research coordinator in several cross-disciplinary research projects and networks both at Stockholm University and Uppsala University.
