Results and subprojects
Here are the results from four different subprojects, which all form part of the research project Gender and Work. It is about how men and women supported themselves during different periods and parts of the Swedish realm. To talk about historical change in this regard, we have developed concepts that can capture different kinds of livelihood models that we found in the sources and that you can read more about under the heading The two-supporter model(s).
Sweden 1550–1800
During the first phase of the project (2010–2014) we studied how women and men made a living in Sweden in the period from 1550 to 1800.
Västmanland county 1720–1880
The second phase of the project (2017–2021) studied how this changed in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries.
New Methods and Concepts
The third phase of the project (2020–2029) aims to further develop methods and concepts.
