Ångström workshop
Ångström Workshop at Uppsala University is a large and modern mechanical workshop. It is the only one of its kind in academia in Sweden. Ångström Workshop contributes to instrument development and manufactures prototypes for research teams at Uppsala University and other Swedish higher education institutions and for national and international research infrastructures.
The workshop has a long tradition of producing and modifying equipment, providing support on technical matters and assisting with material purchases and contacts. Ångström Workshop can handle fine mechanical work with small tolerances and welding of most materials, especially stainless steel (ultra-high vacuum compatible). The workshop operates nine computer numerically controlled (CNC) cutters and two CNC lathes and works with many different materials, such as stainless steel, aluminium, brass, copper, ceramics and various plastics.
