PhD student Silvia Ma Lu from Theme 4 - Land sharing recently participated in the Solar Winter School (6th - 10th March 2023) organized by the Centre O.I.E. MINES Paris - PSL, chair SciDoSol in Sophia Antipolis, France.

The event gathered engineers, researchers, master and PhD students both from academia and from the industry. One-week of training about solar resource assessment and forecasting, satellite imaging systems, numerical weather and atmospheric models and life cycle assessment of PV modules. The week also included practical workshops: detecting faulty pyranometric measurements, making a true North compass and DIY pyrheliometer. Overall it was an excellent event to learn more about solar energy and a great opportunity to meet and network with so many solar enthusiasts ☀️.
