2024 SOLVE Autumn Conference Recap

On November 12-13, Dalarna University hosted the 2024 SOLVE Autumn Conference, organized by Christopher Bales and other SOLVE partners from Dalarna University. The event brought together SOLVE partners from academia, industry, and the public sector to share research progress and insights on solar energy integration.

Key highlights included:

  • Themed Discussion Sections: Attendees engaged in interactive sessions.
  • CheckWatt and the Future Frequency Market: Louise Radon presented CheckWatt’s insights into the future of the frequency market.
  • Planning for Large-scale Expansion: Joakim Widén discussed strategies for large-scale solar expansion.
  • People's Perceptions of PV in the Built Environment: Marieke Rynoson presented an online survey examining public views.
  • AgriPV in Germany: Anna Belen Morales Vilches from Next2Sun AG highlighted AgriPV projects and discussed relevant regulations in Germany, offering a brief comparison with the regulations in Sweden.
  • Dalarna’s Roadmap for the Future Energy System: Marit Ragnarsson from Länsstyrelsen Dalarna discussed the region's energy future and sustainability goals.
  • PV Integration from a Regional Grid Perspective: Malin Wihlén from Ellevio shared insights on regional grid adaptability for PV integration.
  • Enhancing Grid Capacity & Flexibility: Johan Lindahl from Becquerel Sweden presented simulated models of solar production for optimized local grid performance.
