Assisting natural adaptation of forests to climate change

The project (ANAFOR) is about finding solutions for maintaining ecosystems and adapting Swedish forests to a changing climate. Specifically, it is about assisted migration (AM) in Swedish forestry. AM is a novel adaptation approach that involves human-assisted movement of species into regions of projected climate suitability, for which spatial and temporal (time-lag) obstacles currently prevent the success of unassisted establishment.
