Internet of Things Implementation
Internet of Things (IoT) solutions are an important resource when care and nursing must increasingly take place close to the individual and at home. They can create an effective and individual adopted feeling of safety for citizens. However, more knowledge is needed on conflicts that can emerge from introducing these solutions. There is a potential risk of economic versus social sustainability.
Who will have access to the developed technology and infrastructure in healthcare? Who will benefit from the data generated by IOT solutions?
Investigating these goal conflicts is part of a larger project exploring how IoT solutions can be implemented to remain sustainable in order to promote the individual's health and well-being. The project aims to identify obstacles and facilitating factors for the implementation of IoT solutions. This creates the conditions for better use of IoT-based technology.
The project includes several work packages, including studying previous research in the field and conducting an empirical study on ongoing implementation projects of IoT solutions identified by IoT Sweden to compile these experiences and apply them to two pilot projects in Region Dalarna's assistive technology center.
