Renovation of stairwells

The floors in the stairwells of Ekonomikum are worn, and Akademiska Hus plans to renovate all of them. The work will take quite a long time, so it will need to be carried out during the semester.

Starting on Monday, 24 November, a test area will be grinded in the small stairwell in the south-east corner (opposite the café). The entire stairwell will be closed from Friday 21 November. Emergency evacuation will also not be possible via this route. Signs to the nearest emergency exit will be put up.

The sanding will be done in several stages, with the first coarse grinding being very noisy. This will be followed by several stages of quieter fine sanding. The rough grinding is scheduled to take place between 5 a.m. and 9 a.m. The fine sanding will be carried out during the rest of the day. With these working hours, the work will take about a week.

After the test area has been approved, work will continue on the remaining stairwells and will continue for a number of months.
