Honourable mention for CEMFOR from municipal Gender Equality Council

The Centre for Multidisciplinary Studies on Racism (CEMFOR) has received the 2023 honourable mention from Uppsala Municipality’s Gender Equality Council. Every year, Uppsala Municipality’s Gender Equality Council awards an honourable mention to individuals or organisations that have made a vital contribution to gender equality in Uppsala.

The jury explained its decision as follows: “The Centre for Multidisciplinary Studies on Racism at Uppsala University is awarded Uppsala Municipality’s honourable mention for 2023 for its intersectional and applicable research on racism. Through its research and expertise, CEMFOR is an important resource for Uppsala Municipality and our inhabitants, particularly at a time when racism and gender equality are tending to become a matter of opinions and subjective experience.”
