Director appointed for Centre for Digital Humanities and Social Sciences
Ronnie Pingel, senior lecturer at the Department of Statistics, has been appointed new director of the Centre for Digital Humanities and Social Sciences (CDHU).
CDHU was established in 2020 with the aim of promoting research in digital humanities and social sciences, offering broad methodological support and acting as a support function for research infrastructures. Ronnie Pingel succeeds Anna Foka as director and will take up the post on 1 April 2026.
The Centre for Digital Humanities and Social Sciences at Uppsala University (CDHU) was established in 2020 with the aims to promote research in the digital humanities and social sciences, to offer broad methodological support, and to function as the support organisation for research infrastructures. Ronnie Pingel will shortly succeed Anna Foka as Director, taking office on 1 April 2026. CDHU is a centre whose organisational home is the Disciplinary Domain of Humanities and Social Sciences, with the Department of ALM (Archives, Library and Museums) as its host department.
The role as director will cover 50 per cent. Tre role is a three-year position and can be extended. The role will be part of the director's regular employment at Uppsala University.
