Apply for funding from the Sjöberg Foundation
The Sjöberg Foundation announces project grants for cancer research in 2024. The application process is divided into two rounds. You are welcome to submit your project proposal between 1 February and 31 March 2024.
About the Sjöberg Foundation
The Sjöberg Foundation was established by Bengt Sjöberg in 2016 to support cancer research. Every year, the Foundation awards the Sjöberg Prize of one million US dollars and approximately 50 million SEK to the universities. In 2023, fourteen projects received a total of 63.760 million SEK.
This year’s call
In 2024, the Sjöberg Foundation will provide grants in the research areas of:
- Preventive measures and nursing, including complementary and integrative medicine and measures against long-term complications
- Early diagnosis and difficult-to-treat cancers with poor prognosis and also drug repurposing
The Foundation welcomes applications involving unconventional medicines or treatment methods.
Research groups at Sweden’s university hospitals (regions) can submit joint applications of over 6 million SEK for grants to build and consolidate a national research network. The application must have a strong link between translational and clinical research.
