Apply to become a Distinguished University Teacher
Between 1 and 29 February, you can apply to be admitted as Distinguished University Teacher at the Disciplinary Domain of Medicine and Pharmacy.
You can apply to become a Distinguished University Teacher if you are a permanently employed research teacher at the Disciplinary Domain. You can also apply if you are employed by Region Uppsala, or another principal, but are highly active in teaching and research in the field. A basic requirement for admission as is that you have 10 weeks of higher education pedagogical training.
Criteria
To be admitted as Distinguished University Teacher, you should, among other things:
- Be skilled and well-liked in the classroom.
- Have scientific expertise in your research subject, pedagogy, and didactics.
- Develop your own and the University’s teaching.
- Conduct active quality assurance work.
- Be able to analyse and describe your merits in such a way that it is clear that your pedagogical skills stand out from the basic level.

Application
In your application, you should, in a maximum of 25 000 characters, explain how well you meet the criteria. Describe and discuss your pedagogical practice and how it relates to current research. You should both present actual examples of active choices you have made in your teaching, and reflect on why you have made them.
Include:
- A curriculum vitae and service record
- A pedagogical career portfolio
- A certificate from an educational leader
- A certificate from the Head of Department or Head of Unit
- Other relevant attachments
