Upsala Läkareförening’s Rudbeck Prize 2024
This year’s Olof Rudbeck Prize is awarded to Professor of Medical Molecular Genetics Ulf Gyllensten from the Department of Immunology, Genetics and Pathology at Uppsala University.
Ulf Gyllensten’s research has included basic genetic studies of cervical cancer, leading to the development of screening methods via home tests for this disease. He also studies the underlying genetics of other gynaecological cancers and conditions with complex genetics such as hypertension. Together with Professor Marie Allen, Ulf Gyllensten has also pioneered the possibility of analysing DNA in the context of criminal investigations.
Ulf Gyllensten will give a lecture on his research in connection with the Olof Rudbeck Day on 18 October. The Olof Rudbeck Day is an annual event co-organised by Upsala Läkareförening and the Disciplinary Domain of Medicine and Pharmacy at Uppsala University.
