Clinical Academic Groups (CAGs) for increased interactions between clinical, translational and basic science researchers

In the autumn, the Disciplinary Domain of Medicine and Pharmacy, together with Uppsala University Hospital, will announce the possibility of creating CAGs as part of strengthening the translational research in Uppsala.

The aim of introducing CAGs is to develop new constellations where researchers working in the same subject area but with different focuses come together to solve a patient-related health or disease problem. Each CAG should have a leader and a co-leader, one of whom should be a clinical researcher and the other oriented towards basic science.

Each CAG awarded funding will be financed with up to SEK 2 million per year for a maximum of 4 years, for example, doctoral students or postdocs. The applications will be evaluated by an international panel.

More information about the call will be available at the beginning of the autumn, but take the opportunity to start creating your team now. We favour new groups that have not previously collaborated in the applied subject area as potential grant recipients.

With kind regards,

Eva Tiensuu Janson, Professor and Deputy Vice-Rector at the Disciplinary Domain of Medicine and Pharmacy

Ann-Karin Wikström, Professor and Director of Research and Education at Uppsala University Hospital
