Eatris Sweden receives the Node Excellence Award 2025
Ulrika Bäckman and Pontus Aspenström received the second Node Excellence Award on behalf of Eatris.
Eatris’ Swedish node has been awarded the Node Excellence Award 2025. The prize is awarded annually to an Eatris node that has demonstrated strong collaboration with both academia, industry as well as infrastructure and has contributed to strengthening the common goals of Eatris.
The jury particularly highlighted the good cooperation between academia and industry in Sweden, increased Nordic cooperation in the field of ATMP (Advanced Therapeutic Medicinal Products) and the node’s efforts in artificial intelligence (AI). Sweden has also played a central role in the six-month Spotlight programme and worked actively to raise the profile of Eatris nationally, culminating in a scientific symposium in Stockholm on 26 May with the theme: AI in Healthcare – Opportunities, Challenges, and Ethical Considerations.
This is the second time the Swedish node has received the award - the first time was in 2023.
“We are very proud and honoured to receive this award. It shows that our work to create strong business-academia partnerships and to promote innovation is really recognised within Eatris,” states Ulrika Bäckman, National Coordinator.
“This award helps to raise our profile both within and outside the Eatris network. The award also comes with a grant of 6,000 euros, which further gives us an opportunity to reach out nationally, organise activities and continue to develop our activities,” adds Pontus Aspenström, National Director.
