KLARA system for handling of chemicals
KLARA is a chemical handling system in which departments or equivalent register their chemicals and can find safety data sheets and also retrieve reports on the chemicals they possess. KLARA also contains a module for inventory purposes. The KLARA search engine permits product searches using, for example, product names, CAS (Chemical Abstracts Service) numbers, article numbers and molecular structure.
Inlog to KLARA is done by so-called Single Sign On (SSO). This means that those who have an account in KLARA do not need to use specific KLARA login details, but log in by using Common web login, the same as used to log in to the Employee Entrance. Those who do not have an account can still search for classification and security information in the database but can not see where products are located. KLARA can be added to "My tools". Access to the system is also available via link from this page.

IT-security
KLARA is classified as a system that might contain confidential information. Therefore there are procedures required to fulfill the IT-security demands. Make sure that you lock the computer screen when leaving the computer if you are logged in to KLARA.

Barcode application
KLARA also has two advanced modules, for placing orders and barcode management respectively. At the Department of Medical Chemistry, the Department of Chemistry/BMC (Uppsala Biomedical Centre) and the Department of Chemistry/Ångström Laboratory, which all have large numbers of chemicals, these advanced modules are already in use.
Barcode application should be downloaded to a PC. The programme is available to download from Software center (BarcodePcApp). If you don't have Software center on your computer - contact IT-support
Here you find links to documents that describes how to use those modules.
Course and nanolearning
If you are intereseted in taking a half day course in using KLARA, please contact the Chemical Coordinator at the unit for Environment and Physical Work Environment.
