Are you interested in statistical modelling? Are you already working with probabilistic programming frameworks (PPF) such as Stan? Would you be interested in cross-disciplinary collaboration with other researchers using the same or similar frameworks? Then join us for a workshop on applied Bayesian Data Analysis with Stan.
During the last few years, probabilistic programming frameworks (PPF), such as Stan, have become increasingly popular in scientific applications. With PPFs it is possible to freely specify probabilistic models for data, estimate them using Bayesian methods, and then evaluate the models' predictive performance and goodness of fit. This flexibility opens up the possibility to more freely model data and estimate new and more interesting models in applied settings.
This workshop has the purpose to identify researchers who either are using probabilistic programming languages such as Stan or are interested in learning more about how to use Stan for your specific data modeling problems. We will bring researchers together to share experiences and ideas on how to model data in a flexible way. At the workshop, we will discuss potential ways forward in cross-disciplinary collaborations around probabilistic modelling. If you have been using Stan and would like to give a short 15-20 minute presentation, just send an e-mail to mans.magnusson@statistik.uu.se by 30 April.
