Seminar in Swedish: Academic excellence from an equal opportunities perspective

Promoting excellence in higher education is a highly topical issue, driven by the work of the Swedish Association of Higher Education (SUHF) on future merit assessments and the enhanced programme for excellent research environments of the Swedish Research Council.

In this seminar, we will explore what excellence can mean in practice and consider how these initiatives could be developed to be more inclusive. In particular, we will focus on how the structures, biases and norms within academia can hinder different groups from being included in excellence initiatives. E. g., early-career researchers, international staff and individuals without established networks.

Through presentations and discussions involving various university stakeholders, we will explore how excellence initiatives can be combined with fair and transparent conditions for all.
