Welcome to a panel conversation on writing and publishing books, with a mingle afterwards!
At our department there are a lot of book readers and a lot of book writers. Let's get together for an afternoon and talk about books.
During this book-event, four authors from the Department of Human Geography will be part of a panel. They will talk about the ups & downs, the processes of writing and publishing books in geography and beyond, and the different forms and outlets this can take. Here are the four authors:
- Peter Jakobsen and Erik Jönsson will talk about their work with putting together the anthology Socio-Spatial Theory in Nordic Geography. Intellectual Histories and Critical Interventions (Springer, 2022).
- Erik Hansson (via zoom) will talk about reworking his dissertation into a book, The Begging Question. Sweden's Social Responses to the Roma Destitute and publishing it at an international publisher (University of Nebraska Press, 2023).
- Maja Lagerqvist will talk about the new experiences of writing a book for the world outside academia, with the book Trailrunning Sthlm: 50 löpvänliga stigar från Mörkö i söder till Märsta i norr (Natur & Kultur, 2022).
There will be snacks and refreshments.
Warmly welcome!
