Thinking about starting to sketch your application for this autumn's VFS-call? Or still wondering what VFS even is? Then we've got something for you! In October we are holding two webinars on how to apply for funding to test research collaboration with external parties.
VFS (Verification for Collaboration) is funding that Uppsala University offers researchers at the university who want to start research collaboration with actors outside of the academy.
VFS gives you as a researcher the opportunity to see how you can make use of your research results in collaboration with others.
The financing form was initiated in 2014, and each year SEK 2.5 million is currently set aside for financing VFS projects.
The webinars
On Friday 13 October, and on Friday 20 October, from 12:15 to 13:00, the Uppsala University Innovation Partnership Office (UU Samverkan) invites you to a Zoom seminar about this year’s application and the help offered through VFS.
On Zoom, you will meet Harris Stamatopoulos. He will explain what VFS – Verification for Collaboration – is and tell you about the help you through a VFS project can get from the collaboration officers at Uppsala University when it comes to getting started with research collaboration with actors outside the academy. For example, you can get help finding collaboration partners outside the university.

Briefly about:
Verification for Collaboration (VFS in Swedish) offers an opportunity for researchers at Uppsala University to collaborate with external organizations on common issues. The program is financed by Uppsala University to promote cooperation with the surrounding society to enable research for the benefit of society.
The funding is intended to test – verify – whether the partners have enough in common to build on to, for example, seek further funding for continued collaboration.
Projects that receive funding within the VFS program can vary in scope and focus, but must always be of mutual benefit to both parties. Research collaborations between different universities are not funded within the framework of this program.
VFS was initiated in 2014, and SEK 2.5 million is set aside each year to finance VFS projects. Projects can be granted funding of up to SEK 300,000.
Applications for VFS funding are always made in consultation with the University's Innovation Partnership Office (UU Samverkan). The collaboration managers at the Innovation Partnership Office provide advice and support on, for example proposals and contact routes to suitable collaboration parties feedback on your application so that it meets basic requirements and criteria suggestions for possible other financing options that may be better suited based on your circumstances.
