Welcome to the final Faculty Open Forum of the year, where the focus will be on the ethical implications of research practice. Lately, good research practice is increasingly assumed to depend solely on ethical review, but ethics are relevant throughout the research process from collaboration and data collection to analysis, scientific publication and practical application. How can we best safeguard research ethics at all levels, from doctoral studies to large research programs? And how will the ethics review system now change for us in the humanities? To discuss such questions, we have invited our own Anna Lindström, Professor of Language and Social Interaction at the Department of Scandinavian Languages, and Emma von Essen, Senior Lecturer in the Department of Sociology and Trustee for Good Research Practice in the disciplinary domain of the Humanities and Social Sciences. As usual, the Open Forum will be followed by informal conversation over light refreshments.
