Teaching in the classroom: Lectures
- Date: 26 March 2025, 10:15–12:00
- Location: Ångström Laboratory, 101142
- Type: Seminar
- Organiser: TUR - Council for Educational Development at the Faculty of Science and Technology
- Contact person: Seidon Alsaody
A large part of our teaching happens through lectures. Inspired by the keynote speaker at TUK, this seminar aims at improving how we use this undervalued form of teaching. What characterises a good lecture? Does it exist in practice? We discuss how to plan and carry out a lecture, active student participation and motivation during a lecture, what unique possibilities lectures offer and how to use their full potential.
This seminar can be included in our seminar course "Teaching in the Classroom", and will be given in English. As a recommended (but not mandatory) preparation, you can attend the keynote talk "Why are we still lecturing?" at TUK (University Pedagogical Conference of the Faculty of Science and Technology - Uppsala University)
Register to tur-teknat@uu.se no later than March 24.
Welcome!
