Teaching in the classroom: teaching with slides

The use of slide-based presentations on lectures and other forms of teaching is a common at our faculty - it is also a common source of comments from students about how they help or hinder their learning in the classroom. Based on student perspectives, teachers' experiences and literature studies, this workshop will address pedagogical and technical aspects of using slides in teaching: what aspects should be kept in mind when creating and using slides? What do students report work well and support their learning? What are some common sources of irritation and confusion? Participants will also be offered the opportunity to work on their slide presentations and receive feedback.
