Are you curious about using AI tools in your teaching, and are wondering what tools are available, how they can be used to promote learning, and what one needs to keep in mind? Welcome to this workshop with Anders Randler.

Anders Randler works as lecturer at Campus Gotland, focusing on mathematics and IT. He has previously worked at Wisbygymnasiet with the same subjects and with a fair share of IT responsibility. In addition, Anders occasionally works as an educational consultant in collaboration with Apple.

During the workshop, Anders will first talk about the project around practical generative AI that is ongoing at Campus Gotland. After that, we will get an overview of relevant tools like Claude, Gemini, NotebookLM and Perplexity, with a subsequent demo/workshop. Finally, there will be a discussion of problems with AI; examination, legalities and ethics.

Schedule:
9:15–9:45: Description of our AI project and its consequences. Current relevant AI tools with short descriptions.
9:45–10:30: Workshop on Claude and Gemini. Creating material for teaching and examination.
COFFEE BREAK
10:45–11:30: Workshop on Perplexity and NotebookLM. Possibilities in research.
11:30–12:00: Reflection and discussion of problems with AI. Tips about local AI.

The workshop will be given in English.

Sign up no later than October 10 to tur-teknat@uu.se.
