Pedagogisk kvart

Pedagogisk kvart (pedagogical quarter of an hour) is TUR's series with short lectures on current topics concerning teaching (in English, no registration needed).

On 9 March at 15.15, Cecilia Gustavsson (Department of Physics and Astronomy), Distinguished University teacher, will give a talk with the title:

Using ethical dilemmas in teaching
Evaluating and arguing for a solution of a dilemma can train learning goals such as critiquing, arguing, defending and judging, all of which are important for decision making. For the teacher it can be scary to touch upon ethical dilemmas for the fear of the discussions being political or biased. In this talk, I will present an example of working with ethical dilemmas related to nuclear power. The work is focused on information-based assignments, creating a safe environment and role playing.

The talk is 15 minutes long, with room for questions afterwards. The venue is the event space on the ground floor of the Ångström lab, House 10.
