How to discuss the nature of science with students

The philosophy of science can be taught in separate courses, integrated in other courses – or not at all. We will discuss the its usefulness, and in which way it should and could be included in science and engineering education. The article argues that the philosophy of science is integral to science, with problems inspired by concrete questions that arise naturally during the practice of science itself and describes some strategies for teaching the nature of science to Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) students.
