Prizes, grants and appointments within the Disciplinary Domain of Science and Technology:
Two young researchers will receive Göran Gustafsson Prizes in Engineering Physics: Leiting Zhang at the Department of Chemistry-Ångström is awarded the three-year prize and Sunghan Kim at the Department of Mathematics receives the one-year prize.
Mateusz Stroinski, PhD student in Mathematics at Uppsala University and Stefano De Marchi, Professor at Università di Padova have been granted support within the Mathematics Programme, funded by the Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation. Stefano De Marchi will be a visiting professor at the Department of Information Technology.
Erin O’Sullivan at the Department of Physics and Astronomy has been selected the new Spokesperson for the IceCube Collaboration and will begin her new position in May 2025.
On 1 March 2025, professor Patrik Johansson took up his role as new director of the flagship project Battery 2030+ at Uppsala University.
Didem Gürdür Broo of the Department of Information Technology has been appointed as the new Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Industrial Information Integration, an Elsiever journal with an impact factor of 10.4 (see also researcher interview in Horizon Magazine, December 2024).
