Information meeting for "SFO" in health, life science and AI

On April 25th at 14.30-16.00, the Vice-Rectors Mats Larhed and Charlotte Platzer Björkman invite you to this meeting. One of the purposes of the meeting is to give you the opportunity to find new potential partners within the university. It is especially important for those of you who wish to be included in the internal prioritization process to participate in this meeting. Register for the meeting no later than 21 April.

According to the research bill, the Swedish Research Council will announce new SFOs that universities apply for in competition. One of these SFOs is Health, life science, and artificial intelligence. The other SFOs are listed at the bottom of this email.

All information currently available is that which is stated in the bill. As we understand, there will be very little time. Therefore, we will already now begin the internal process, as prioritization will be necessary.

Applicants should be national leaders in their field, and it is a great advantage if they already have a broad network that can be part of the SFO. It is important to join forces to develop broad, multidisciplinary SFO proposals that exploit the potential of AI in health and life science. Time plan

• 25 April at 14.30-16.00 in Trippelrummet, Navet, BMC: Vice-Rector’s information- and discussion meeting, as well as match-making
• Preliminary 29 Maj: Submission of draft of your idea
• June: Advance information about the call will be published
• June/July (before the vacation): Prioritization will be done
• Fall 2025: Application is submitted to the Swedish Research Council

Draft of your idea

As part of the internal process regarding the SFO Health, Life Science, and Artificial Intelligence, all interested researchers will need to submit a short draft. More information about this will come later. The preliminary deadline for draft is May 29, 2025.
