European Innovation Council (EIC)

This part of Horizon Europe funds the development of innovations, technologies and business models. It also includes Pathfinder, which in Horizon 2020 was called FET Open. Pathfinder funds interdisciplinary collaborative projects for new breakthrough technological breakthroughs.

European Innovation Ecosystems

Call for collaborations between researchers, entrepreneurs, industry and research institutes, with the aim to together solve global challenges.

European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT)

This part consists mainly of knowledge and innovation consortia (KIC) and are pan-European collaborations with the aim of strengthening Europe's competitiveness. These KICs include entrepreneurship education, innovation projects and start-ups, with the common aim of tackling climate change, the digital economy, innovative energy solutions, health and sustainable urban development. Uppsala University collaborates within EIT InnoEnergy, EIT Health and EIT RawMaterials.
