Development of teaching

All teachers should, besides their own subject education, receive basic training in academic teaching and learning, as well as be offered continuing professional development recurrently. They should also be provided with opportunities to follow the development of knowledge in subject taught in terms of science as well as academic teaching and learning and subject didactics.
The combination of educationally skillful teachers and research-based teaching and learning is fundamental to Uppsala University. At the same time, taking responsibility for the quality of teaching and learning is also a matter of mutual concern for the teachers and the students. This is the starting point for the guidelines provided by the University in Teaching and learning at Uppsala University.
In this programme, the roles of the University and the students are both accounted for. The Teaching and learning at Uppsala University is to be revised and work on this is ongoing in 2023 and 2024.
