Ekta Vats (Uppsala University, Department of Information Technology) is an Assistant Professor and holds a PhD in computer vision. Since 2024, she has been a Beijer researcher at the Beijer Laboratory for Research on Artificial Intelligence.

Omid Mirmotahari (University of Oslo) is a Merited Educator at the University of Oslo (UiO) and received the UiO Education Prize 2024. Omid has a background in computer science and nanoelectronics, but for the past 15 years, he has been researching learning with a particular interest in quantifying the learning process. Omid is currently involved in research projects focusing on AI, pedagogy, and feedback literacy.

Faisal Rashid (German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI)). Faisal’s research focuses on supervised machine learning to develop and apply robust, efficient, and responsible AI to effectively tackle complex societal challenges, advance applications of AI in healthcare, and explore generative AI for educational technologies. His work revolves around applications of AI in the fields of document image processing, natural language processing, computer vision, and educational technology.

Anders Åberg (Dalarna University) works as an educational developer focusing on how generative AI can support teaching and learning. He has experience in education both in Sweden and internationally, including projects in Bangladesh and Gambia, where he has worked to create conditions for education through the use of digital tools and generative AI. Anders emphasizes that pedagogy must always come first, and theories about how students learn should form the foundation of the educational approach.

Lennart Rolandsson (Uppsala University, Department of Education) is an Associate Professor and his research focuses on human and technological values in the classroom when programming is taught. He was recently involved in the working group that developed the central guidelines for generative AI in teaching and examination at Uppsala University that are currently under review.

Wilhelmina Statham (Uppsala University, Department of Game Design) is a lecturer in digital media and course responsible for ‘Theory and Methods’, ‘Degree Project’, and ‘AI-assisted Content in Games’ within the Bachelor of Game Design. She brings extensive experience as a supervisor and a keen interest in exploring the role of AI in education, grounded in student-centered pedagogical values and Universal Design for Learning.

Miquel Perez Torres (University of Groningen) is a STEM advisor and educational developer at the Centre for Learning and Teaching, specializing in AI within the Faculty of Science and Engineering. He holds an MSc and PhD in Education with a focus on Science Education from the Autonomous University of Barcelona. Miquel’s work centers on STEM innovation initiatives, teacher training, and policy development for competence-based education in Science and Mathematics.

Francisco José Castillo Hernández (University of Groningen) is a postdoctoral researcher and lecturer at the Centre for Learning and Teaching. He holds a master’s and PhD in Science Education and has experience in coordinating and teaching courses such as Research Methods in Science Education and Communication. Francisco is actively involved in EU-funded projects like Sustainable Mobility in School Education and Artificial Intelligence for Professional and Pedagogical Practices in Higher Education (INFINITE), and his work is recognized through research publications, collaborative projects, and international conference presentations.

Tri Tran (University of Groningen). Dr. Tri Tran is a recognized expert in AI in education, leading the Community of Practice on AI at the Teaching Academy of Groningen. As a tenured Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Groningen, he offers deep insights into Innovation and Technology Management. With a doctorate from Aalto University, Finland, Dr. Tran’s research has been published in leading technology management and education journals. His work uniquely blends AI applications with practical didactic strategies, driving innovation in teaching and learning.

Sarah Schwarz and Mirka Perón Flodström (Uppsala University) work at The Language Workshop, a unit that offers academic language support for all students and PhD students at Uppsala University. The Language Workshop has used their experience in working with students’ academic writing to develop a workshop that invites teachers to experience using generative AI in the writing process from a student’s perspective. This workshop will now be given during the AI week!

Geir Gunnlaugsson (Uppsala University, Unit for Academic Teaching and Learning) works as an educational developer and has experience with AI in education.

Susanne Mirbt (Uppsala University, Unit for Academic Teaching and Learning) works as an educational developer and has a special interest in AI in education.

Suzanne Pathkiller (Uppsala University, Unit for Academic Teaching and Learning) works as an educational developer and has experience with AI in education.

Sofia Grunér and Andreas Forsberg (Uppsala University, Unit for Academic Teaching and Learning and University IT) both work with offering pedagogical and technical support in Studio Blåsenhus, which is a user-friendly learning environment that enables high-quality results for simple to more advanced video and podcast projects used in education at the university.
