Text-matching tool: Originality to Replace Ouriginal
This autumn, our text-matching tool will be updated. Ouriginal will be discontinued and replaced by Originality. The workflow will remain largely the same, but the similarity reports will have a new look.
What do you need to do as a teacher?
After the change, some assignments in Studium may need to be updated to use the new service. This is a simple process requiring just a few clicks. Clear instructions will be provided.
Good to know
The tool works much like the previous one and will remain integrated in Studium. The report interface is new, but the workflow will feel familiar. Guides on how to interpret the new reports will be available. During a short transition period, the system may be slightly less reliable than usual. If you are unsure about a submission, you can verify it directly in the Originality web interface.
When will the change happen?
The transition is planned for the end of October or beginning of November. Early access may be possible.
Why are we changing tools?
Ouriginal will be discontinued by the provider in 2026, which means the contract cannot be extended. Sunet, which provides many of our digital services, has therefore completed a new procurement – and, amusingly enough, the winning service has almost the same name!
