New in Studium: Register attendance via QR-code
A new tool will be available this spring semester to make attendance registration in Studium easier. Students will be able to register their attendance using a QR code.
During the autumn, a group of teachers and administrators tested a prototype of the new QR-code tool for registering attendance. Development was carried out step by step based on their feedback, with the aim of simplifying the process for students, teachers and administrators.
The tool is currently available for pilot testing in the Student list. It has not yet been translated to English. We plan on launching the tool during the spring semester of 2026.
How does it work?
The tool lists all assignments for attendance that are created in the course. The teacher selects the relevant assignment and a dynamic QR code appears that refreshes every 30 seconds. Students scan the code with their mobile device and receive confirmation that their attendance has been recorded. Teachers can also monitor in real time when a student has scanned the code.
Attendance is automatically transferred to the assignment in Studium’s gradebook, removing the need to manually enter the student's attendance.
