Check that images have not been hidden
An access control for images in Sitevision will be activated on 26 November. The change is made in preparation for Sitevision to handle the editing of profile pages, where images need to be able to be hidden from users who are not logged in.
What do I need to do?
As a webmaster, you will need to go through your pages after 10:15 on 26 November and check that images are visible as they should be. Here’s what you need to do:
- Open an incognito / private window in your browser.
- Open the part of the website you are responsible for.
- Click through all your pages and make sure that images are visible where they should be.
If you notice that any image is not visible, try selecting the image again. If that doesn’t help, upload the image again, either to the page or to a folder in the image archive that is not locked.
If you can’t fix an image, contact itsupport@uu.se.
More about the change
The change means that a visitor who isn’t logged in can only see a given image on a web page if the image is saved on a public page or in a folder that is not locked. For the vast majority of images in Sitevision this is already true and the change will have no impact, but for some images it may mean that they are no longer visible to visitors who are not logged in.
