Applications are now being accepted for the position of Head of the newly established Uppsala University Future Institutes. The final date for applications is 15 August 2025.
Uppsala University Future Institutes (UUniFI) was established by the University Board on 18 June 2025. The purpose of UUniFI is to create a University-wide, internationally leading research environment that facilitates the pooling of excellence around challenge-driven, boundary-crossing research. The ambition is to establish conditions for original and excellent research through new inter- and multidisciplinary collaborations.
UUniFI will be under the direction of a governing board and a head of institute. UUniFI will serve as a host organisation for research institutes. Each research institute will in turn be led by a director who is responsible for research development.
Uppsala University is now looking for the person to lead and develop UUniFI.
Leadership role
The Head of Institute will be the formal head of the directors and administrative staff employed by UUniFI.
The position of Head of Institute is a fixed-term management role of three years, which may be extended. The scope of the role may vary between 50 and 80 per cent of full-time.
To be eligible, you must have a doctorate and hold a permanent position at Uppsala University, preferably as a professor or senior lecturer.
